These six companies were selected for their significant business achievements; innovation within their industries; business excellence and integrity; demonstrated community leadership; contribution to the community by promoting and supporting the needs of education; track record of professional and civic achievements that are a direct result of use of the free enterprise system as well as their commitment to remaining and doing business in Massachusetts.
"The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is proud to join Junior Achievement in recognizing creation and growth in industries that exemplify the very best in business practices not only in Massachusetts but in the entire country," said Lt. Governor Kerry Healey. "These are successful companies that display characteristics of business excellence, integrity, community and civic leadership."
The three categories of Inductees are based on the number of employees working at the company: Boston Capital and Stacy's Pita Chips for companies with under 500 employees; BBN Technologies and Jordan's Furniture with 501-2,499 employees, and Staples and Genzyme with 2,500 or more employees.
